Today I am talking about actor, producer, and director Kirk Cameron.
This is a guy who is doing what God calls us all to do. Most recently 10s of thousands have tuned into Kirk’s Campfire Revival on his Facebook page, which are short 20-minute gatherings around his campfire in his back yard to pray and to consider God’s work in our lives.
This is what I call a Godly Community Organizer which, in perspective, is opposite of another notable community organizer we know as Barack Hussein Obama. Chicago was his domain where Kirk’s is the world.
You should ask why I suggest Kirk is a Godly example of a community organizer.
Well, I am glad you asked. To begin with, his body of work as an actor and producer of movies (noted below) are examples of work based on divine intervention. And this is what, I believe, armed Kirk with the experiences that would lead him to the revelation that we need to know how God is at work in every area of our lives, believe it or not.
That body of work is an impressive lineup of movies / documentaries I have found to be illuminating in building on my own lifelong journey with God.
Left Behind and Fireproof series of movies that put in visual form the bible I have been studying virtually all of my life. That study gave me an understanding that there is a battle between God and Satan on earth and is what defines good and evil in the world throughout history and as much so in today’s world. It has encouraged me to dig even deeper into Gods word and into history.
Monumental – This is a documentary about the Puritans and pilgrims that began the long hard birthing of our beloved America – One Nation Under God. Thus, a nation of God’s people, and by His design. It shows how America was built on the Bible, both the old and New Testaments to the existence of our creator.
Unstoppable – a documentary building on Kirk’s faith in God, in his own words and more importantly in Gods purposes for Kirks growing witness toward a sound and solid faith in God for all who care to know.
These are just a few examples of God at work in our existence but, to me, these are evidences of a divine intervention to tell us something. It reminds us that many are called even though only a few will accept God’s plan for us. And that it exists beyond the alternative secular world view we are experiencing once again in our brief history of time here on earth.
I encourage you to watch these few examples because it will give you pause to reflect on your own faith. That faith, whether yours is in God the creator, or a belief there is no God. Both positions take faith.
After viewing and considering the message of these movies and documentaries, I believe you will build on your faith in God and know if He is doing a work in your life.
